The hospital was founded in 1955 as "Henan Huaihe Hospital". After several name changes, it was renamed as "Henan University Huaihe Hospital" after the merger of "Henan University", "Kaifeng Medical College" and "Kaifeng Normal College" in 2000. At present, the hospital has developed into a provincial comprehensive national Grade III Grade A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation, with strong rescue ability and high scientific research and teaching level.
